Hope for the Hopeless

Redemption Chapel Pic-3.png

Our story of hope and new life comes in the form of a new church start appropriately called Redemption Chapel.

God has brought together a gathering of broken people. Our stories vary but the brokenness is real. We offer others a place of healing and hope that is available to all through our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

This church was born when a fallen pastor was restored through the love and encouragement of God’s people. Others who had been wounded by the church, who had given up on church, or who had never been part of a church are finding a safe place to worship.

Our music is mostly contemporary gospel. Our attire is casual. Our messages are God’s word made real for those who are dealing with the challenges, crises, and fears of real life.

You might say we are a bit non-traditional when it comes to our gathering spaces.  We began our journey meeting at a funeral home, which seemed to be an ironic but ideal fit when calling people to the new life of the resurrected Jesus Christ. People found hope in a building that often represents grief, just like the empty tomb.  We can be resurrected because He is risen.

We've held worship and fellowship gatherings in bowling alley basements, sportsmen's clubs, restored garages, gyms, and on riverbanks, and we have now remodeled a former eye clinic into our very own church building!  We are so excited for this next step in God's plan for our church.

We have found that it's not about the space we use for our meetings but instead about the people gathered there--our church family--that really matters.  Our mission is to carry the Gospel message outside the four walls of our building (wherever that may be!) to reach others that we interact with in our everyday lives.

Hope you can join us some time at Redemption Chapel!  We truly mean it...come as you are!

Pastor George "Skip" Shick
